As a certified Transformational Coach, she provides the guidance and education needed for you to begin to take action – to get experience and pursue your sailing dreams. You will gain a far greater understanding of the Rules of the Road, who is responsible, what all the instruments are and what they do. Now when you walk down a dock you will look at boats very differently.
Captain Deb teaches a one-of-a-kind, foundational sailing and boating course. She has deliberately developed courses to build your knowledge, so you are successful and strategic in understanding the ins and outs of this vast marine industry. It doesn’t matter if you choose to day sail or boat, race, cruise, use your boat as a condo, your asset needs to be managed and maintained. Your number one objective as a boat owner is to ensure that every time you take you boat out that it and everyone on it returns or reaches its destination safely.
Captain Deb will make sure as you navigate this journey of boating, sailing, watercrafts of all kinds that you begin with a safety mindset. Knowledge and skills, common sense, and conscious awareness will support your journey and make it a lot easier and fun.
Captain Deb begins giving you great insight and information so the next time you step on a boat you will know what the equipment is, what its used for, when to use it, and basics that will enable you to be safe. You will look at everything differently when you get on a boat, and when to get off. This sport is inherently dangerous, so having basic knowledge and building a solid understanding of what to do and when will assist you when the weather turns bad, or something breaks, or someone goes overboard. But more importantly having this knowledge will guide you to be more confident and capable aboard.
This is not just a man’s sport. Ladies you are as capable. It just takes getting the right training. This is the place to start.
Capt. Deb starts with a foundation of safety which you build on and grow your knowledge, then your build your skills so competency and excellence becomes your standard. Being aware, a conscious, observant participant and owner in this sport can make all the difference of your outcome. You will become familiar with the United States Coast Guard Rules of the Road, and when you bring a boat into a marina, people will comment on your skills! Beware they will also notice and comment on “lack of skill” and how you maneuver difficult situations.
